Noah & The Whale, Tonight’s The Kind of Night, song review.

Noah & The Whale, Tonight’s The Kind of Night, Last Night on Earth, Mercury Records.

This is the second single released from Noah & The Whale’s second studio album “Last Night on Earth”, coming after L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N. This is by far my favourite song on this album. It is refreshing hearing such a happy, fast flowing song from quite a bland sounding folk band. The song starts with a good drum beat and leads into a happy sounding piano riff, the tempo of the song is typically slowed down as the verses are sung and then as expected the tempo rises for the chorus, this song is quite a positive sounding song, lyrically, and you can’t help but feel happy and dance to this song. The piano riff is defiantly the highlight of this song. I didn’t think they could release a song I absolutely love without Laura Marling, I was wrong.

Rating 8/10
